Expressive Susumaniello from Salento IGP with Mediterranean spice and fine barrique aging.
Product description
The Salento IGP Susumaniello comes from the sun-drenched south of Apulia, from the provinces of Brindisi and Taranto. The designation IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) guarantees the protected geographical origin and stands for regionally typical wines with an independent character.
This wine is made from 100% Susumaniello – an autochthonous, almost forgotten grape variety from Apulia, which is now valued for its aromatic depth and elegant structure. The vines are trained in the trellis system (Spalliera).
Aging takes place in stainless steel and barrique barrels, preserving freshness and fruit while the wood adds extra complexity and fine spice.
In the glass, an intense ruby red appears. Aromas of ripe red and dark berries, cherries, Mediterranean herbs and subtle roasted notes unfold on the nose. On the palate, the wine is soft, balanced and structured, with pleasant fruit depth, moderate tannins and a harmonious finish. A modern representative of a traditional grape variety.
Ideal with pasta with meat ragout, grilled meat, lamb, Mediterranean dishes or aged cheese.
